These lactose-free dirt cake cups are a nostalgic dessert made for all ages! Creamy homemade chocolate pudding is layered with crushed sandwich cookies and topped with gummy worms for a fun and indulgent treat without the lactose.

Ingredients
For the chocolate pudding:

500ml lactose-free milk

2 tbsp cocoa powder

2 tbsp cornflour

75g granulated sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

30g lactose-free dark chocolate (optional, for richer flavour)
For the cups:

300g lactose-free chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed

Directions
- In a saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, cornflour, sugar, and salt. Slowly add the lactose-free milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
Cook over medium heat, whisking until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble, about 5–7 minutes.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and chocolate (if using), and let cool to room temperature.
Once slightly cooled, transfer to the fridge and chill for 30 minutes to an hour until fully set.
Blitz the sandwich cookies in a food processor (or place in a sealed bag and crush with a rolling pin) until they resemble fine “dirt.”
- In small cups or jars, layer crushed cookies, pudding mixture, and repeat until full. Finish with a layer of cookie “dirt” on top.
Add a few gummy worms on top of each cup for a fun, earthy look.
Refrigerate the assembled cups for 1 hour to set. Serve chilled with spoons and smiles!
Recipe Note
You can make the pudding a day ahead and store it in the fridge, just give it a stir before assembling. Want extra richness? Swap 100ml of the milk for lactose-free cream. Gummy worms are optional but highly recommended for fun!
